Research for this map included studying aerial and satellite images of Qatar, Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates. The fascination with the rapid new developments and the sudden change in landscape from city to desert, in this case at night, was the main inspiration. The lights are drawn one at a time and reflect the accurate colors of street lights in this part of the world.
