Map Details for Al Qalea by Night – set in the United Arab Emirates
This is one of the nighttime series of maps that depicts a city from about 20,000 ft at night, showing the lights of the city. Research for this map included studying aerial and satellite images of Qatar, Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates. The fascination with the rapid new developments and the sudden change in landscape from city to desert, in this case at night, was the main inspiration. The lights are drawn one at a time and reflect the accurate colors of street lights in this part of the world.
